On Quora: “Why people have no problem in paying for a 8$ dessert but find a 99c app expensive?”

Interesting discussion on Quora regarding the (irrational?) behaviour of our lovely customers, who have no problems in easily spending in many things (as an expensive dessert in a restaurant) while complaining about paying even the smallest amount for the applications we develop. Another example of the importance of understanding the psychology of the buying process.

The discussion so far hints at several aspects to explain why people pay for dessert and not for apps but so far I´ll take as the best explanation the obvious one: “iPhone apps are not made of chocolate” (by Jack Dahlgren)
